Frequently asked
Do I need any technical skills?
No. You paste your website address, choose your colours and copy one line of code into your site. We have step-by-step guides for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and Google Tag Manager.
Where does the assistant get its answers?
Only from the content you give it: your website pages, uploaded documents, text and Q&As. If the answer isn’t there, it says it isn’t sure and offers to take the visitor’s details for your team.
Which AI does autoai use?
Answers are written by Claude, made by Anthropic. Starter uses a fast model, Pro and Business use a more advanced one for trickier questions.
What counts as a message?
Each answer your assistant gives counts as one message. Your allowance resets on the 1st of every month. If you run out, your assistant politely collects visitors’ contact details instead of answering.
What happens after the free trial?
You choose a plan to keep your assistants online. If you don’t, they go offline but nothing is deleted, so you can pick up where you left off.
Is visitor data safe?
Conversations are stored securely and only visible to your team. The widget doesn’t set tracking cookies, and we act as your data processor under UK GDPR. See our privacy policy and data processing terms.
Can I use it on more than one website?
Yes. Each assistant has its own knowledge, style and install code, and you can lock each one to the domains you choose.
